Mirror Stare
I did that mirror stare, and yes i found some problems with the way I look. But i felt the more and more I looked none of this stuff really mattered, the fact of the matter most people really do care so much about they look whether they want to believe it or not. I understand that the mans argument was the more you look the more you find wrong, this is true in a sense for some people but for others it may be different. It really comes down to who the person is and how they feel about themselves.
The Meaning and Significance of Stereotypes in National Culture
When I think of stereotyping and I only have to give two examples this seems very simple. The first is of course after the whole 9/11 incident, after that anyone who was Muslim/middle eastern was considered a terrorist in our eyes. The second are the views that we as citizens have towards so called "ganbangers". Now because they dress differently or talk a certain way if they don't meet up with the standards that our society has made a foundation for, they are "gangbangers"
Reaction to The Future of Media
My reaction to the future of media is kind of scared in a sence. I mean the problem that I have with it is the fact that almost all people are so dependent on the media that they forget they other ways of using different resources. It almost seems like no matter where you and what you do the media is always following a few footsteps behind you. At the same time it is exciting to see it all develop into something that people 20 years ago would've never believed.
Apologies for the long wait of my blog
Media Consumption Log
Everyday I wake up and I usually like to check out the different new and curent affairs that go on in the world around us. I find it difficult at time to find the so called "best one" because of the fact each news station puts on their on stuff. I personally have grown more interested in the BBC(British Broadcasting Company). The reason for this being I feel as though they have the most to offer than anyone else. Another media source that I also look at is Google news, I find it that they have some pretty good and updated stories. As strange as it is I barely use the newspapers any more, I feel as though they have become outdated and just don't serve as too big of a crucial role in our society. I watch the news on television, I usually watch CNN, CSNBC,NBC and sometimes ABC. To be quite honest I also watch the Greek News that my parents get as a television station. Overall I find it to be a daily routine to watch the new now, or have some sort of media that comes into my day. One of my favorite shows that I watch a lot is Family Guy and they do a lot of criticism towards the media. I find myself to be more hooked into the media because of all the stories and events that go on
